AADS Education & Promotions Unit

The Unit is responsible to deliver culturally appropriate AADS education programs designed to address both the effects and prevention of drug and alcohol misuse in the broader Aboriginal community. The Unit also supports AADS staff in the delivery of community education programs and workshops. 

In addition the Education Promotions Unit develops and maintain an extensive professional and culturally appropriate Resource Library for the organisation and community.

Objectives of the Unit:
  • To assist staff, with necessary resources, to deliver external education sessions to schools, Aboriginal organisations, government departments, support agencies and partners.
  • To develop and design educational and promotional materials i.e. posters, videos, booklets, calendars, information kits etc in line with AADS “Healing Our Spirit” logo.
  • To assist staff, prepare educational and promotional resources and necessary equipment to participate in community events, forums, conferences and workshops.
  • To develop AADS client information materials to ‘take away’ eg: pamphlets, facts sheets and information kits.
  • To provide library resources to support client group in the area of education and information on drugs and alcohol.
