Youth Services - Get On Move On The Youth programs are a part of the all of family or holistic prevention and treatment services for Indigenous people who are ravaged by the effects of harmful drug and alcohol use but also by the wayward, ill conceived and knee jerk reaction by governments to the needs of Indigenous people and in particular young Indigenous people. AADS will run the "National Indigenous Drug Strategy" program which is administered by the Commonwealth Office of Health and Ageing designed to engage and educate Indigenous young people about making life choices. A feature of this program is the "Get on Move on Program" which is a mobile alcohol and drug education and promotional tool that is used in school and education workshops. Other related activities involve leadership and education camps, Youth Forum that AADS maintains to ensure involvement of young people in policy and program development within the AOD sector. The "Get On Move On Program" involves a message to young people that says: "Get On" to a new way of life that offers better choice and success and "Move On" past the things that cause harm and limit our future life choices. It will build and strengthen young people and provide capacity for the growth of future leaders in the Indigenous community.
